Accept your emotions

People react to a personal crisis with a variety of emotions, including wrath, worry, outrage, and self-doubt. They may be aggressive, lashing out at those who are closest to them. Alternatively, they may become grumpy and melancholy. Restlessness, loss of appetite, loss of interest in sex, insomnia, and feelings of apathy and tiredness are all symptoms of tension.

While some of these symptoms may be unpleasant, they are normal, anticipated reactions of people who have suffered a loss or experienced a significant shift in their lives.

The first step in accepting feelings is to sort through and identify them. Some feelings, especially those that are terrible, can become so buried that you are unaware they exist. Recognizing these intense feelings, understanding why they may exist, and dealing with them positively are all key. Refusing to embrace your emotions might lead to physical and emotional harm.
