I need to feel confident before I handle big projects for me
This myth has the scenario completely backwards! "The actions of confidence come first; the feelings of confidence come afterwards," says Russ Harris. In other words, the reality is: "I will begin to feel confident once I tackle the projects that are important to me." And once you've taken action over and over again so that you have the skills to accomplish the results you want—then you'll start to experience emotions of confidence.
A more beneficial perspective is to tell yourself, "I don't have to feel confident before I do what is important. I'll feel more confident when I do what matters."
